About a dozen of the so-called "bumper tables" were rolled out at Fish Tales(a restaurant in Ocean City, Maryland) on May 16. The inflated tube tables were created by Revolution Event Design & Production. The company is based in Baltimore, Maryland. The bumper tables are intended to enable people to follow social distancing while feeding and talking in open-air environments. The accessories feature a hole in the middle which accommodates people around 4 to 6 feet tall. Wheels are attached to the underside for moving around, so members get a little spring in their step. But the main function of this tool is that they maintain a 6-foot distance from each other. The people who designed this product wanted to come up with a creative way to keep people safe. Shawn Harman is the owner of Fish Tales says that he hopes that customers can enjoy their meals and remain distanced while dining in the restaurant's parking property.
